1 - Acceptance

By downloading or using Soren (the “App”), made by Soren Labs (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

2 - Your licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Soren on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal use, in accordance with these terms and the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or sublicense the App except as permitted by law.

3 - Wellness, not medical advice

Soren is a wellness and productivity tool, not a medical device. The Soren Score, sleep detection, and all other figures are estimates derived from sensor data for general informational purposes only. They are not medical advice and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Soren’s auto-detected sleep is an estimate and may be inaccurate. Always rely on a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions, and never disregard professional advice because of something in the App. If you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services.

4 - Subscriptions, trials & auto-renewal

Soren may offer paid subscriptions with optional free trials. Pricing and trial length are shown in the App at the point of purchase. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and managed by Apple:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of any free trial).
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period’s end.
Manage or cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

5 - Acceptable use

Use Soren lawfully and as intended. Don’t attempt to disrupt or circumvent the App’s security, the Screen Time protections, or another person’s use, and don’t use the App to harm yourself or others.

6 - Intellectual property

Soren, the Soren Labs name and mark, and the App’s design and content are owned by Soren Labs and protected by law. These terms don’t transfer any ownership to you.

7 - Privacy

Your use of Soren is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains that the App is designed to keep your data on your device.

8 - Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any score or detection will be accurate.

9 - Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soren Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

10 - Termination

You may stop using Soren at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end the App or these terms if you breach them or as required by law.

11 - Apple App Store terms

These terms are between you and Soren Labs only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. To the extent of any maintenance and support, Soren Labs is solely responsible; Apple has no obligation to furnish it. Apple is not responsible for any product warranties, claims, or third-party intellectual-property claims relating to the App. You must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and any applicable third-party agreements. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

12 - Changes

We may update these terms; we’ll revise the “Effective” date above and, for material changes, note them in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

13 - Governing law

Soren Labs is a small independent research lab, not a registered company. These terms apply to the extent your local law allows - and where your local consumer-protection laws give you more, those prevail.
