How the Soren Score works, with the weights published.
The Soren Score is a daily read, 0 to 100, on how sharp your mind is set up to be - built from three things you already generate: focus, sleep and movement. Most scores hide the maths. This one shows it.

A daily 0 to 100 score, weighted and published.
The Soren Score weighs three signals into one number each day: your focus (40%), your sleep (35%) and your physical recovery (25%). Each is read from data already on your iPhone, the weights are fixed and printed in the open, and the whole thing is computed on the device - no account, no server.
Three signals,
one number.
Each weighted by how much it shapes a focused, well-rested day, then computed on your iPhone.
Focus
Your protected, unbroken attention: the focus sessions you hold and the distractions you keep out. We weight it heaviest because focus is usually the most actionable lever.
Sleep
Estimated from your iPhone’s motion, no wearable needed, and written to Apple Health. A rough night shows up the next morning instead of hiding.
Physical
Movement, exercise and recovery, read from Apple Health. A body that has recovered is a brain that is ready to think.

No black box.
By design.
Most wellness scores keep their formula secret. Soren prints it, so when the number moves you know why.
The weights are public
40, 35, 25 - stated plainly and not quietly re-tuned behind your back. You can audit your own number.
It re-normalizes automatically
Miss a signal - no sleep data last night - and the rest re-weight, so a gap never silently sinks your score.
On-device, always
Every part is computed on your iPhone from data you already have. Nothing is inferred on a server you cannot see.
A signal, not a verdict.
The Soren Score is a focus and wellness measure - not a medical or clinical score, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for a professional. Sleep stages are modelled estimates from your phone motion, and the app marks them as estimates. Use it to spot your own patterns, not to diagnose yourself.
The score,
explained plainly.
What goes into the number, how sleep is read without a wearable, and what the score is and is not - short answers, no spin.
What is the Soren Score?
A single daily number, 0 to 100, for how ready your mind is to focus - a readiness signal, not a measure of actual cognitive function. It combines your focus, sleep and physical recovery into one read you can check at a glance, computed on your iPhone.
How is the Soren Score calculated?
It weighs three signals: focus at 40% (your unbroken focus sessions and the distractions you keep out), sleep at 35% (estimated from your iPhone’s motion) and physical recovery at 25% (movement and exercise from Apple Health). The weights are fixed and published; if a signal is missing for a day, the others adjust proportionally so the score still totals 100%.
How does Soren measure sleep without a wearable?
It estimates when you fell asleep and woke from your iPhone’s motion and step data, then writes the result to Apple Health. Sleep stages are modelled estimates, not a clinical sleep study.
Is the Soren Score a medical or clinical measurement?
It is a focus and wellness signal for spotting your own patterns over time - not a diagnosis, not a medical device, and not a substitute for a clinician. If something feels wrong, talk to a qualified professional.
Why does Soren publish its weights?
Because a score you cannot inspect is just a vibe. Publishing the 40 / 35 / 25 split means you can see exactly why your number moved, instead of trusting a black box.
Can I improve my Soren Score?
Yes, by moving the inputs: hold focused sessions, protect your sleep, and keep moving and recovering. Because the weights are public, you can see which lever pays off most on a given day.
